Thanksgiving Week

This week was a great one. My sister Heather was able to spend all week with us which was a tremendous help, Scott had half of the week off and we did lots of fun things.

Monday we were able to leave Lexi with nanny Heather and go see the movie Blindside with some friends which was the first movie I have seen in a long time. It was a great movie. I recommend it to everyone.

Tuesday I was able yet again to go to the movies and see New Moon with Celeste. Also another great movie. Its hard to read the books and then see the movie because you realize how much is left out of the movie. Now I know how Harry Potter fans feel. I have only seen the movies but never read the books. Maybe I should get started on that one.

Wednesday Scott got off work early and we went to the Utah Grizzlies hockey game. If you have never been to a hockey game they are actually pretty fun. Unfortunately there were no fights but Lexi loved it and basically just walked up and down the aisle the whole time.

Thursday was Thanksgiving and just a typical one at that. Good food and then relaxation.

Friday was Black Friday. I am not into that madness yet. I keep wondering if when Lexi gets older if I will have to get her the newest, latest toy for Christmas and brave the crowds. But until then who knows. We did venture out around 11 to Target but it wasnt to bad. Then we had some yummy Cafe Rio for lunch. Nanny Heather graciously watched Lexi again while Scott and I went to a dollar movie. It was fun just to get out again. Then we came home and watched the movie UP.

Saturday we decided to do a little ice skating with Jon and Celeste. We hadnt been in several years. I was a little shaky the first go around but then it was smooth sailing after that. Scott surprised me because he is an awesome skater. I cant wait till Lexi can go. We just took turns holding her on the team benches so she could see what was going on. She really had a good time. Scott so badly wanted to hold her and skate around with her but it was to dangerous. He did get his wish when the Zamboni came out to freshen up the ice everyone had gotten off the ice and we were the last ones so he grabbed Lex and skated over to the entrance with her. Please enjoy some videos of us skating and being silly:

Check out Scott's mad figure skating moves. He is in the green plaid shirt.

After skating we had some delicious all you can eat pizza buffet and then headed over to the in laws to watch the BYU vs Utah football game. It was a great game and came down to Overtime but the Cougars pulled it out and were able to win the game. After that we just headed home after a long week and relaxed.

Today is a sad day because I am losing my Nanny. Heather has to go back up to BYU Idaho to finish up the semester. Lexi really took to Heather and it was easy to leave her with her because I knew she was having fun and wouldnt be sad. Thanks Heather for all your help. It allowed Scott and I to have a little fun this week. It will be sad to be all alone again. I got used to having someone with me all the time to help out.

But in other news Scott and I just booked some plane tickets to FL in Jan. We were hoping to get out there for Christmas because I havent been home for Christmas in about 4 years but the tickets were outrageously expensive. Scotts work is gracious enough to think of me and ask me to help out with a conference in Orlando at that time so we are able to see my family and get a free trip out of it. Scott has to leave right after to go to another conference so I am staying with my family for about 2 weeks. I wont be able to go to FL much anymore when the new baby is born because I wont be able to fly by myself with 2 kids that young so this is a great thing.
