Florida

My little sister Heather, Lexi, and I traveled to Florida for a little vacation while Scott was working in California. I was glad to have my sister traveling with me so I could have some help with Lexi. Traveling with a baby can be quite difficult by yourself especially a 6 month old who is into everything and constantly moving. She was only bad for a little bit of the flight so it was OK. When we arrived in Florida you instantly know you are there because you are engulfed by the humidity. It was soooo HOT!!! You walk outside and you start sweating. Scott and I have discussed moving to Florida sometime but after living somewhere else it almost makes going back to the heat unbearable. It was great to see my family and for them to enjoy Lexi. Luckily this is the 3rd time Lexi has been to Florida in the last 4 months. She is quite the little traveler. Everytime I go to Florida I mainly just relax and never plan any big activities. Maybe one of these times I will do something that I actually planned on doing. My week consisted of getting no sleep, Lexi turning 6 months old, taking pics of Lexi, spending time with the family, remolding my parents master closet, eating some good home cooking, Lexi learning how to crawl, and doing absolutely nothing.

Lexi decided that she was going to wake up several times during the night and stay up for about an hour at a time. So I really didnt get any sleep the whole time. I hope this is just a phase because I definetly do not like this.

Of course I had to spend most of my time taking pictures of my little cutie. I just cant resist. If I am gonna be a photographer I need all the practice I can get, right. :)



I love doing home improvements. My parents have a fairly older house that could always use some updating (my mom is gonna love that sentence) so every time I come I always try to get my Dad to start some project or another. Last time it was the master bathroom and this time it was the master closet. I didnt get to see the finished product but we definetly got started. We demoed the inside and ripped everything off the walls and removed the carpet. We painted and laided down a lament wood floor and suprisingly it wasnt that hard. My dad hurt his back a little bit ago so I did most of the manual labor. :) My dad did the cutting. So far it looks fantastic. Now they are just deciding what to do with all the space they have now and what layout works best. I didnt get any before shots but trust me it was not pretty (once again my mom is gonna love that comment). :)

Anytime I come home I can always count on some good home cooking. Steak, homemade pizza, hamburgers, waffles, omletes, and delicious cakes. YUM YUM!!! Lexi turned 6 months old while we were there so my sister who is learning to make cakes baked Lexi a delicious cake.

Lexi is such a smart girl while we were in Florida she decided to start to learn to crawl. She was all over the place. I dont know if I was ready for that. I cant leave her anywhere alone now.

Overall it was a great time to just relax and spend time with my family. I dont know when I will be able to get back to Florida but I definely hope sooner than later.
